Community Service Leader’s Message
Hello Jamul Chaparros!
It was so nice to see everyone at the October
meeting. I really enjoy installing
the new club leaders, it is like the changing of the guard and it truly signals
the start of our new club year. There
is one thing I forgot to do at our unit meeting and that was to recognize and
thank the club officers who served us so faithfully during our 2010-2011 club
year; and so, I’d like to take this opportunity to say a BIG, “THANK
YOU!” to:
Haley Grigsby, President and Teen Council
Representative
Chelsea Smith and Safari Fabrizio, Vice Presidents
Rachel Bradley, Secretary and Supply Officer
Christina Dietzer, Treasurer
Jannettie Krempp, Reporter
Chelsea Smith and Forrest Sallee, Historians
Lindsey Smith, Recreation
Savannah Donston, Sgt at Arms
Jessie Krempp, Clover Buds
Jack Sullivan, Liam Sullivan, and Adam Madla, Song
Leaders
Job well done!
At our November meeting, we will have our awards
ceremony to honor those club members who completed their projects and created
either a project report or a full personal development report.
If you completed a project report or PDR and didn’t submit it to me,
please call me and make arrangements to drop it off at my house.
I’m currently reviewing the reports that were turned into me at the
October meeting. I really enjoy
rewarding people for the work they did in their projects and hate to see anyone
not get their membership stripes or stars, so please call me and turn in your
reports ASAP! Don’t deny me the
pleasure of handing you your stripes or/and stars!
If you have not yet finished your registration,
please do so as soon as possible. It
is also not too late to bring a friend and have them share in the fun of 4-H.
A big thank you to everyone who has completed their online registration
turned in their medical health history, medical release forms, and paid their
fees. The fees this year are
$35/youth member and $10/adult volunteer. I
will be processing the registrations and turning them into the county 4-H
office. When your online
registration and all of your paperwork has been completed, you should receive a
confirmation of it via email. If you
are a new volunteer, please be sure to complete your training, fill out your
paperwork, pay your registration fee, and complete the Live Scan screening
process as soon as possible. If you
have any questions regarding this process, please give me a call.
New members and parents, please be sure to come to my
home on Sunday, Oct. 23rd at 2pm for the new parent 4-H program and
safety orientation. Immediately following this meeting there will be a new
volunteer’s orientation training for those parents who have already
volunteered to become adult leaders.
Thank you!
Mary
President’s Message
Hello
New & Returning 4Hers!!!
Welcome to another new and GREAT 4H year. I'm really looking forward to this
year as your new club president. I have been a part of the Jamul Chaparros 4H
club for 6 years and I have been involved in just about every project, so if you
ever have any questions, I have a lot of experience to share. I am hoping to
make this year the best yet, so if you have any ideas how to make it better
please let me know!
For all our new members the Jamul Chaparros 4H club has many great projects and
I hope you can find the one you enjoy doing. The dog project is still looking
for members, so if you have a dog and would like to learn some basic obedience
skills consider attending one of the dog project meetings.
I hope to see you all at our Jamul Parade and Petting Zoo. It’s a lot of fun
getting to create the float and travel down the road throwing candy and sharing
the fun of 4H!
As your new president I will try and become the best, most efficient leader I
can. However I am currently taking a night college class on Tuesday evening, so
I will not be able to attend all of the unit meetings between now and December.
So I will leave you in the capable hands of the Vice President Rachel. I will be
back in December and will hopefully be able to attend some meetings between
then.
So let’s get this year off to with a Big Bang and hit the ground running. I
look forward to getting to know everyone personally and having a fabulous year.
~Chelsea Smith~

County
Council Fundraiser for 2011-2012
This
year the San Diego 4-H County Council is going to be putting together a
cookbook. This will the County
Council’s big fundraiser and it is taking the place of calendar sales.
They promise the cookbook will be out in time to purchase them to give or
sell as Christmas presents! They
would like all recipes submitted to Robbie Cranor ASAP!
They are desperately seeking more recipes, so please send your favorite recipes to
Robbie at: 67FORD@nethere.com,
If you picked up an official recipe form at the unit meeting, please fill
it out and mail it to: San Diego
County 4-H Office, Attn: Carol
Hrigora, 9335 Hazard Way, Suite 201, San Diego, Ca 92123. The County Council
would really like to get at least 6 recipes per club, so please take the time to
