Hey everyone, this past month has been a crazy and tough one for all of
us and especially the ones that lost their homes in the fires. Thank you
to all the members of 4-H who are supporting their community and all the fire
victims. Those $100 gift cards to Wal-Mart will really come in handy for
those who need it. Also, thanks so much to the firefighters who came
and talked with us at the last unit meeting. I encourage everyone to help
out as much as they can so we can get back to normal life. I hope this
year is a success and I hope to see everyone having fun at all the events this
year!
Your
President,
Lucas A. Van Winkle
A lot happened between our October and November unit meeting.
I’m thankful that no one was injured and most of us are getting back to
normal. I do want to say I’m
sorry to the families in our club who lost their homes or have damaged homes.
Please let the group know if you have any needs, especially with housing
animals. We have received an e-mail
from an Arizona club offering help. I
have e-mailed then with a suggestion. Also,
the gift cards we voted on to give to our families that were affected by the
fire have been sent out.
I enjoyed having the fire department at the unit meeting.
I think that we as individuals need to be ready for wildfire as well as
taking the peculations to protect our homes and animals.
I want to thank each member in our group that has helped people during
this time. Please do your best to
volunteer at the fund-raiser on November 17 at the soccer field.
Next month will be our awards night.
If you have any questions about awards night please call Ginnie.
Have a good Thanksgiving.
Fire
Fund-raiser on November 17
On Saturday,
November 17 there will be a community fund-raiser to help the families in Jamul
who lost their homes in the fire. It will be held at the soccer fields at the
elementary school. Our group will
be collecting pet food and canned food. Please
get the word out to bring pet food to the fund-raiser.
The Kiwanis need us to volunteer to collect pet and canned food starting
at 9:00 AM. This will be an all day
event. You can also bring clothes
and household items to donate to the fire victims.
Other events will be astro-jumps and games, silent action, pancake
breakfast, and lunch.
Their will also be a cake walk and treat or treat street that was originally planned for the fall festival at the school. Please attend and show your support for our community.
Rabbits
in Need of Good Homes
Gene Peterson has three Florida White rabbits that are in need of a good
home. They are all show quality.
Take one or take them all. Due
to the loss of his home he is unable to keep them at this time. If interested, contact Gene (Suzie may answer the phone).
